President

Virginia Zimm is the President of the Ontario Produce Marketing Association. For more than 20 years the OPMA [a not for profit member funded association] has been the collective voice of the produce industry in Ontario representing its membership provincially, nationally and globally.  The OPMA’s mission is to create conversation, and produce industry interaction to promote the increased consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables by providing services such as education, produce inspection, grading and Q&A training services, advocacy, networking, marketing and lobbying.  With more than 25 years in the produce marketing and communication realm, Virginia is the architect of the OPMA’s continued growth and is personally connected to every facet of the fresh food industry. She has developed lasting relationships within the entire value chain [from seed to table] and has earned the respect of its members. Whether it’s with the research stations, growers, packers, shippers, wholesalers, the retail and foodservice trade, the complex network of foreign and Canadian government agencies and associations or the media, her ability to understand each segment’s needs and deliver to the benefit of their individual objectives, is impressive.

A Ryerson University alumnus, she is an advisory member of the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, The Produce Marketing Association [USA], The Canadian Retail Council, The Canadian Culinary Federation, The International Association of Culinary Professionals, Restaurants Canada, and is a founding member of Les Dames d’escoffier, Toronto Chapter.
